What can a web site do for you?

There are many uses for a web site, but they are particularly useful for small businesses and non-profit organizations. An effective small business web site can increase profits, generate sales leads, expand your business nationally or globally, decrease your marketing costs, and provide more efficient customer service. An effective non-profit organization web site can increase funding by attracting new clients, recruit new volunteers, inform constituents about upcoming events, and provide information to the public about a specific cause. Additionally, personal sites can be used for announcing a new birth, planning a wedding, showcasing your exciting vacation, providing information about a hobby or a profession, and paying tribute to your favorite sports team or performer.

What will I need to provide to you to make my web site?

You should provide any materials that you want to be included on your web site including any relevant photographs, text, your letterhead and/or logos you want to use, and any internet site addresses you want to link to. I can provide scanning of materials, buttons, colors, layout, fonts and extra images deemed necessary to provide you with a striking and informative web page.

How long does it take to complete a web site?

The whole process can take anywhere from several weeks to a few months. Building a web site is a creative process, as I will build a unique site each of my clients.

What kind of computer equipment do I need?

None. I will handle the complete design, maintenance, and hosting registration. However, I encourage you to have access to email, as I can establish email connections on the site at no additional charge.

Will I be able to see my site before it gets posted on the Internet?

Yes. I will upload your site onto a private server which will enable you to view your site on the internet. This is your opportunity to make final revisions to your site before it is uploaded to your web hosting server.

What happens when my page is completed - will it be on the internet?

Not yet. You will review it online on a private server and send me any modifications that you would like to have made. As soon as the final version is approved by the client, and I receive your final payment, I will upload it directly to your web host company.

Can I make my own changes to the web site after you have completed it?

Yes. If you know HTML or have a web design software, you can make changes. Once I send you the finished web site, it is yours. You may also buy a maintenance agreement where I will update your web site regularly for a monthly fee.

Who "owns" the web site after it is created?

The clients own the copyright, design, and information in their web sites. The client is responsible for the content of their site. I do reserve the right to use it as a sample of the type of design I am capable of producing.
